Why websites are important to small businesses?
Hey Savvy Business Owner,
You're off in the races now, starting a business is no easy feat, and it seems like the responsibilities are endless. And, if day to day operations are not enough, you now have to think about your digital operations too.
Perhaps, you’ve been in business but with the rise of technology, you are beginning to hear words like digital presence, business profile, online store, and e-commerce more and more. Or, maybe clients are asking to use financial options like Klarna, Google Pay, Clear Pay and other third party services to finance their products.
No matter how you got here, its because you are beginning to realize just how important having an online presence is for any individual who seeks to make money in the digital age. But, is it really important to small businesses if they have a website or not?
The answer is Yes.Your Small Business Needs A Website.
The internet is incorporated into every thing we do. Once major corporations like Apple and Samsung were able to make the internet accessible through the palm of our hand, people began to rely on its capabilities more and more.
Credibility
In fact, studies say that over 60% of consumers search a business before a purchase, so if you aren’t searchable you just lost over 60% of your potential clientele.
It’s a part of how we rank a company's credibility in today’s society. Now, when people are going to a new business they tend to google the location, read the reviews, check out the website for a gallery or policies in place for the company. And, because of this, when we can't find a website for a company, we assume that the company is not up to par.
greater flexibility
But, credibility is not the only reason a website is important to a small business. A website also offers clients greater flexibility than a brick and mortar location. When a customer visits a website they are typically seeking to have the option of shipping an item, shopping after hours, or using flexible pay methods.
Currently, one of the most trending internet searches is “which sites accept Klarna”, followed by:
which sites accept :
Google Pay
Clear Pay
Paypal
After Pay
Each of these sites are digital financial service providers, either offering easy payment plans, or the use of a digital wallet to fulfill their purchases. These are services that are often unavailable for a brick and mortar location. Which makes the configuration of a website all the more important for today’s small business owner.
Small business websites are available 24 hours a day
In addition to these options, information and resources on a small business website are available 24 hours a day. Your content acts as your voice, even when you are not present. For example, a lash technician may share her after care instructions, and a video tutorial on her website. This would be an added resource to service her clients, and build trust and position herself as an expert in her industry.
By producing content on your website, you offer valuable information to the public, which garners trust, which ultimately will produce a loyal clientele. An added benefit of this is that you can service your clients quickly, and not waste time repeating the same information over and over again.
A website is key to providing a professional appearance that keeps up with the competition
Furthermore, a website is key to providing a professional appearance that keeps up with the competition. If you are not yet on the internet, I can almost guarantee you have competitors who are. Finding leads is difficult enough, but add in the lack of a digital presence you may as well be searching the yellow pages.
Now you know just how important having a website iis for any individual who seeks to make money in the digital age. After all, the internet is incorporated into every thing we do. When we are going to a new business we tend to google the location, read the reviews, check out the website for the space gallery or policies in place for the company. And, because of this, when we cant find a website for a company, we assume that the company is not up to par. Moreover, studies show that over 60% of consumers search a business before a purchase, so if you aren’t searchable you just lost over 60% of your potential clientele.
So the question stands to reason, not whether you need a website but what type of website do you need?
